The History of Pisa Tango Festival *
The Pisa Tango Festival was born from the experience of the Festival Tango por Tres, it organized 16 to 19 May 2013 in three cities: Pisa, Lucca and Livorno.
5 organizers of tango associations: Tangoquerido, Ditangointango, Tangomiamor, Bolivar518 and SpazioUrma (composed Urma ass. Cultural and UrmaDanza asd). On that occasion, they were invited two orchestras: Sonos Tango Sextet and Orchestra Typical Marcucci and two pairs of teachers: Ricardo Barrios and Laura Melo - Pablo Inza and Mariana Dragone.

1st Edition
From 5 to 8 June 2014 at the heart of Pisa opens its doors to tango: free milongas in historical places of the city, music in clubs and on the streets of the center, gala evenings with special guests and exceptional presence of Gustavo Naveira and Giselle Anne and Ariadna Naveira and Fernando Sanchez.

From 11 to 14 June 2015 the heart of Pisa opens its doors to tango: Free milongas in historical places of the city, music in clubs and on the streets of the center, gala evenings with special guests, seminars and workshops for those who want to study, art exhibitions, film festivals and conferences to deepen the culture of tango, tourist and gastronomic to relax and discover the city.

From 2 to 5 June 2016, the heart of Pisa opens its doors to tango: Free milongas in historical places of the city, music in clubs and on the streets of the center, gala evenings with special guests, seminars and workshops for those who want to study, exhibitions art, film festivals and conferences to deepen the culture of tango, tourist and gastronomic itineraries to relax and discover the city.

Pisa Tango Festival, for this edition, is organized by: SpazioUrma and Bolivar518.
The other two associations, TangoMiAmor and Ditangointango, withdrew from the organization.
4th Edition
Unfortunately, the remaining associations, SpazioUrma and Bolivar518, decide that it is no longer the case to participate in Pisa Tango Festival, also withdrew from the organization.
At this point, no one was left available ...
Only Simone Matteoli and Debora Giusti (former members of Urma Dance and now Tangostudio), and always believe in love of teaching and mastery of Gustavo and Giselle, had the desire to continue this experience and take them again, for the fourth year, in Pisa.
But on a second thought, and especially in the absence of the Pisan Associations, have thought that at this point it was right to close a chapter.

The Pisa Tango Festival for us CLOSE, ends here, with the success of the third edition.

The new topic of the seminar: The Embrace
Open, closed, side, back, and interrupted.
The embrace of the tango is probably the element that defines our way of dancing. The embrace is the image of the tango, this is so often the central theme of the discussion when we talk about tango. In this seminar we will study the embrace deeply, trying to bring to light the reasons for the technical problems that arise. It is not just repeating a position that magically happens the result, we need to understand what happens when the posture changes, here's where we learn, this is why we explore the embrace in its various forms, first to the open embrace, involving more distances and angles. After the close embrace, where the steps are at the mercy of a single posture. Then the side and rear embrace, older versions but very showy. Finally, we will study the breaking of the embrace, though controversial is a very enlightening. In all cases, we will focus both esthetics to the operation. The style and the beauty of the lines should always be there, but the embrace must "work." This will complete the harmony of the dance movements. The embrace transmit emotion and feeling and we will reach the magic of tango.
